25th February 2004

My 2700 has been my weapon since 2000, when I got it. I love it; once you get past the ugliness and the weak pump it's good. I've used it in most of my battles since 2000, except for ones in 2003 where I used my CPS 1000 because the trigger was broken during that summer. Since then I've modded it quite a bit, I wouldn't have but there's a story behind why I modded it.

One day I was messing around with it, nothing dangerous, I was shooting my mailbox from a distance. When I pulled the trigger, it shot normal, but it stayed in. I immediately took it into my house and I did not try to pull it out, that could damage it further because I do not know the actual problem. It took me a few weeks of trying to get it open, due to rusty screws, eventually it was open. I found out that the trigger had cracked, nearly snapped. A month or so later I repaired it with help from my dad, you can see the repair at www.sscentral.net.

After that I thought I might as well mod it, so I started reading more mod articles and tech articles. That fall I tested it K modded with 15 balloons, and liked what I saw, I wanted more. So I froze the check valve and put 45 balloons in the chamber, it now gives a good buck when firing. While doing a check valve freeze, the pump cap fell off, I accidentally sawed most of it off when I was opening the gun. So I repaired it with a 2 litre cap with a hole in it, it keeps the pump from coming out of the pump shaft.

After a few test shots I wanted to see how much I can pump it... so I accidentally overpumped it and blew up the trigger valve. I repaired it, just like the trigger repair, the valve repair is also at www.sscentral.net.

Since I K modded it I haven't used it in battle. It should be a great long range gun though, it has a range of the upper 50s. With the nozzle selector off, 2X is great for conservation and 10X is now like a 15X shot.
